There are no known hazards associated with the use of the Poly fibre of which Sunseal insulation is manufactured from. No special protection is considered necessary during installation. Sunseal batts are non-allergenic and low irritant making installation safe and easy. Poly insulation is also approved for use by the asthma foundation. Moisture Absorption of Poly
Exposure to an atmosphere of 50ºC at 90% Relative Humidity for four days gives moisture absorption by weight of less than 0.03%. If the insulation becomes wet, full thermal efficiency is restored upon drying out. Corrosiveness
When tested in accordance with NZS 4222. Sunseal Poly insulation would not be classified as corrosive and has a ph level of 7.8 (ph of 7 is neutral) Maximum Service Temperature
Sunseal Poly has a melting point of 250ºC . How ever it is recommended that Sunseal Poly not be used in an environment of greater than 150ºC. Packaging
Sunseal batts are vacuum or compression packed for ease of transportation and storage. When opening pack, the batts will slowly increase their thickness. Allow the insulation batt one summer month to return to its manufactured thickness. Vermin Resistant
Sunseal Poly batts do not harbor or sustain the growth of fungi, bacteria or vermin. Fire Resistance
Sunseal batts are tested in accordance with AS 1530 Part 3. and results meet the recommended Australian Standards for fire resistance. AWTA Fire certificate is available upon request.
Sunseal Wool Batts come in a wide range of R-values, are non-irritant and user friendly. They do not contain any Synthetic Mineral Fibres (SMF's), or Asbestos. Sunseal Wool Batts come as a Wool/ Poly fibre blended batt and are widely used in both the building industry and by the homeowner alike. Sunseal Wool blend Batts comply with the Australian Building code, passing all flammability tests.
Applications
Sunseal batts are commonly used in ceiling & wall cavities and also between floors. When installed correctly they dramatically reduce heat gain in Summer and heat loss in Summer making the house or building much more comfortable while at the same time saving on energy costs. Sunseal batts can save up to 60% on energy bills thus paying for themselves in no time and also helping to preserve the environment. Health & Safety
There are no known hazards associated with the use of the Poly and Wool fibres of which Sunseal insulation is manufactured from. No special protection is considered necessary during installation. Sunseal batts are non-allergenic and low irritant making installation safe and easy. Poly insulation is also approved for use by the asthma foundation. Wool
Sunseal Wool products will reach equilibrium with the moisture content of the surrounding atmosphere (Dependant on temperature and relative humidity). If the insulation becomes wet, they should be dried before installation to achieve maximum performance. Corrosiveness
When tested in accordance with NZS 4222. Sunseal Wool insulation would not be classified as corrosive and has a ph level of 7.8 (ph of 7 is neutral) Maximum Service Temperature
Sunseal Wool has a melting point of 250ºC. How ever it is recommended that Sunseal Wool insulation not be used in an environment of greater than 90ºC. Packaging
Sunseal batts are vacuum or compression packed for ease of transportation and storage. When opening pack, the batts will slowly increase their thickness. Allow the insulation batt one summer month to return to its manufactured thickness. Moisture Absorption of Sunseal Wool insulation is treated with Di-Sodium Octaborate which is a natural mineral salt solution which is applied to the wool @ a rate of 4%. This process provides resistance to insect & vermin attack. Fire Resistance
Sunseal batts are tested in accordance with AS 1530 Part 3. Sunseal Wool batt results meet the recommended Australian Standards for fire resistance.
